    An echocardiogram test can be performed to evaluate signs and symptoms of heart disease such as: 

    Atherosclerosis – A gradual obstruction of the arteries by fatty materials or other substances in the bloodstream over a period of years that causes an abnormality of the wall motion or pumping of the heart.
